Chaka'-Nai is a very popular ancient Chamori game similar to "TAG" and played mainly by the Famagu'on (children or young
adults). The Chamori game is played out with several versions, the most popular of which is the "POW". It starts
out with an "It" called a "Mutong". Whoever gets tagged by the "Mutong" becomes a prisoner or "POW" of the "Chaka' Clan".
The chase goes on until all the players are tagged. The magical part about this game is that the POWs end up assisting
the "Mutong" in tagging other players. The phrase used when touching or tagging a player is: "Toka Hao". Bengga-Nai,
another popular Chamori game is always used to determine who the IT or MUTONG will be to start the game.
Rules of Play
One player (the IT or MUTONG) would count from (1) One to (10) Ten in the language of the Taotao Tano'. This allows the
other players to find a hiding place. When the Countdown is completed, the IT or MUTONG will proceed to finding the other
players and Tagging them or Touching them by calling out "TOKA HAO". A Tagged Player has the option of remaining in prison
or becoming a MUTONG AGENT, assisting in the Tagging or Capture of the other remaining players. The last player Tagged or
Captured will become the new IT or MUTONG for a new game.
